The SSL Certificate has a fullform Secure Sockets Layer. This technology was created by NETSCAP in the year 1990. It is a security layer that is used in websites and online applications. SSL Certificate (Secure Sockets Layer)

The SSL Certificate (Secure Sockets Layer) is an Encryption Protocol used in the Internet. This protocol provides a secure connection between the Internet Browser and the website, allowing the Internet user to securely exchange their private data with another website. In today’s time, almost all websites use SSL Certificate. The SSL Certificate Protocol is used by millions of online business people so that they can privateize the online transactions being done by their customers, so that any kind of Hacker cannot misuse their data.

Websites that use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) have https: // in place of http: // in front of the Domain Name in their website and a lock-like Icon appears indicating that it is Website Secure. If you click on the Icon of the lock that appears in the Address Bar, then the SSL Certification, Identification and all other information of that website is visible from the website of which the user is viewing.

What is HTTP & HTTPS Protocol?
HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) is used to transfer data from Browser to Web Server. That is, it is a communication channel, through which the connection between the client and the server is established and the data transfer takes place between the two. Normally HTTP Protocol uses Port 80 to transfer data, and the security of HTTP Protocol is very weak (weak). Which can be broken easily. The updated version of HTTP is HTTPS protocol, in which “S” means “Secure”. HTTPS also performs the same functions as HTTP. But Strong Security Feature is available in HTTPS Protocol. The data transfer from HTTPS, from Browser to Website, then all the data packet is encrypted and no one can hack it easily.
